Sopot Jazz Festival 2026 – Marc Ribot Quartet Concert
As part of the anniversary edition of the Sopot Jazz Festival, the stage at Mamuszki 14 will host one of the most fascinating figures of contemporary guitar. Marc Ribot—an artist equally at home in gritty No Wave, Latin rhythms, and jazz improvisation—will arrive in Sopot on May 6 with his latest project, Hurry Red Telephone.
Ribot is a musician who “stopped playing the way one is supposed to” decades ago, choosing authenticity over academic correctness. On the Mamuszki 14 stage, he will be joined by his long-time collaborators: drummer Chad Taylor and bassist Sebastian Steinberg. The quartet is completed by saxophonist Briggan Krauss, bringing a new, raw energy to the group’s sound—one that has been shaped during their European tour.
The Marc Ribot Quartet concert is a must-see highlight of the festival program—a moment when jazz tradition meets the New York “here and now.” This is living music, constantly searching for new paths. The choice of Mamuszki 14 as the venue is no coincidence—we want jazz of this caliber to resonate in a place that is open and close to people.
