Pole Vault on the Pier 2026
One of the world’s oldest athletics meetings held outside a stadium will bring the 2026 athletics season to a close. The “Pole Vault on the Pier” competition will be held in Sopot for the 39th time. Fans of the “queen of sports” and visitors to the city can look forward to two days of competition in a unique seaside setting, featuring separate events for men, women and young athletes.
The men will be the first to take to the competition, with an international field of athletes. The men’s competition will take place on Thursday, 20 August, at 5:00 p.m.
The following day, Friday, will be packed with sporting excitement. The young pole vaulters will begin competing at 11:00 a.m., followed by the women’s competition at 3:00 p.m.
The “Pole Vault on the Pier” competition was launched in 1984. Its past winners include some of the world’s biggest stars of the discipline: Anna Rogowska, Stacy Dragila, Daniela Bartova, Monika Pyrek, Władysław Kozakiewicz, Marian Kolasa, Paweł Wojciechowski and Piotr Lisek.
