This August, we invite you to the 15th edition of the Literacki Sopot Festival, dedicated this year to the literature and cultures of the Portuguese-speaking world. From 20 to 23 August, audiences will have the opportunity to meet acclaimed authors and writers during dozens of conversations, panel discussions, and cultural events taking place across Sopot. As in previous years, the festival’s main venue will be Goyki 3 Art Inkubator.

Literacki Sopot is organised by Goyki 3 Art Inkubator in partnership with the City of Sopot. The festival was first held in 2012. Each year, the organisers spotlight the literature of a different country or linguistic region. Previous editions have focused on, among others, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Spanish-speaking world, Italy, and Ireland.

The festival also features a rich programme dedicated to contemporary Polish literature, including regular series such as (Un)Memory, exploring history and remembrance, and Debuts, showcasing emerging literary voices.

Visitors can experience literature in many different forms throughout the city. The programme includes author talks and discussions, theatre performances, staged readings, radio plays as part of Literary Theatre, film screenings within Literary Cinema, and the ever-popular workshops for young audiences presented under Literary for Children and Literary for Young Adults.

Since 2021, the festival has also featured a visual arts programme, presenting site-specific artistic projects in the park and around the historic villa at Goyki 3.
