As part of Sopot Jazz Festival 2026, the stage at Mamuszki 14 will be filled with a sonic story of freedom and mutual trust. On Wednesday, June 3, Maciej Obara Quartet, the Polish-Scandinavian ensemble joined by Norwegian trumpeter Mathias Eick, will perform. The concert begins at 7:00 PM.

Maciej Obara Quartet will appear in a special extended lineup of the Polish-Scandinavian ensemble, featuring leader and saxophonist Maciej Obara alongside Dominik Wania (piano), Ole Morten Vågan (double bass), and Gard Nilssen (drums). Joining the quartet is Norwegian trumpeter Mathias Eick, one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary European jazz. All of the artists are part of the elite roster of ECM Records, which in itself is a promise of the highest musical quality. Yet this concert is more than a presentation of their achievements — it is the premiere of new compositions in which Obara searches for freedom in silence and strength in collective creation.
