NAMI JumpOFFF Hipodrom
The Sopot Hippodrome is bustling with life all year round. At the end of summer, equestrian activity moves from the beautiful green outdoor areas indoors. The four indoor arenas available at the Sopot facility become a home for horse enthusiasts from October to April. Daily training sessions and riding lessons take place here, while on weekends the venue turns into an arena for sporting competitions. An intense indoor season lies ahead, with as many as fifteen equestrian events planned, including competitions from the JumpOFF Hippodrome series, national-level events, and competitions dedicated exclusively to young riders.
NAMI JumpOFF Hippodrome is a well-known series among equestrian enthusiasts from the Tri-City area, featuring show jumping competitions held at the Hippodrome during the indoor season. The events are open to all age groups—you can watch both the youngest beginners and experienced riders compete. Despite its regional character, participants come not only from the Pomeranian region, and each edition has consistently enjoyed great popularity for years.
Show jumping is the most popular equestrian discipline—in 2024, there were 11,000 registered competitors holding licenses from the Polish Equestrian Federation and regularly participating in competitions. It is no surprise, therefore, that show jumping dominates the Sopot Hippodrome’s calendar, from regional events to the most prestigious ones, including the June CSIO.
The rules are straightforward: each class features different obstacle heights and a slightly different course that the rider and horse must complete. Obstacles are numbered, and before each competition, riders walk the course on foot to plan their ride. Penalty points are awarded for knocking down rails and for exceeding the time limit.
This season, the Hippodrome also invites participants to national-level show jumping competitions and events for children and youth. The latter are aimed at the youngest riders, though not necessarily beginners, as the Sopot arena also hosts young champions and winners of competitions in Poland and across Europe. Competitions for children and youth (DiM) reflect the Hippodrome’s mission of equestrian education. They are also a natural continuation of riding lessons attended by many young people in the riding schools operating at the venue.
Admission to indoor competitions is free.
When? April 18–19 (Saturday–Sunday)
Where? The competitions take place in the Orange Hall, which can be accessed from the main gate on Łokietka Street or from the footbridge over the Green Route (entrance from the Żabianka side).
See you at the Sopot Hippodrome!
