Sopot pier closed until further notice

From January 14 to 16, 2026, rainfall and sleet are forecast, as well as periodic temperature drops below zero. Such weather may favor freezing of wet surfaces, which involves the risk of icy roads, sidewalks and pedestrian paths. Due to possible difficulties, we appeal to both drivers and pedestrians to exercise increased caution. For the safety of residents and tourists, due to freezing rain and dangerous weather conditions, the pier is closed until further notice.

According to the forecast prepared by the Meteorological Office for Marine Forecasts in Gdynia, rain and sleet are expected in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The temperature during the day will range from -1°C to +3°C, while at night it may locally drop to -3°C, sometimes reaching 0°C. Exceeding the zero degree limit will contribute to the formation of slippery surfaces and local icing. Due to the forecast conditions, an RCB Alert was sent to residents of the region via the Provincial Crisis Management Center.

The warning is valid from Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 7:30 a.m. until Friday, January 16, 2026 in the morning hours. We encourage you to follow current weather reports and plan your activities taking into account the prevailing conditions.
