A truly wonderful venue, Sopot’s covered amphitheatre, which is found in a hollow in the lush woodland surrounding the city, is widely recognised both at home and abroad as one of the most outstanding musical venues in Europe thanks in no small part to its superb acoustics. Now with seating for 5,000 people, over the years the audience of the Forest Opera have been entertained by some of the biggest names in music, including James Brown, Charles Aznavour, Whitney Houston, Annie Lennox, Sir Elton John, Lionel Richie, Bryan Adams, Sting and Simply Red.
The Forest Opera is also the home of the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot, a string orchestra which has performed in the most important concert halls in Europe.
In addition to the exceptional concerts and cultural events it hosts, the Forest Opera also organises special events, workshops and shows for children. The Forest Opera is surrounded by forest, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It is an ideal place to awaken the creative activity of children.
